Stage III: Blairsville/Union County –“Gaps” - Road Race
Map - http://www.mapmyride.com/route/us/ga/woody%20gap%20school/650687496588
Course Description: North Georgia – ‘Gaps’ Road Race
Address - 2736 State Highway 60, Suches, GA 30572 – Parking - Woody Gap School (Remember parking is limited – once at capacity you will have to find your own parking but there is plenty)
The Union County Road Race Leaves from Woody Gap School and after a brief climb, launches riders onto a 3-mile descent down the lesser-known part of Woody Gap going towards Morganton from Suches. Freshly repaved roads on this fast and twisty descent will mean high speeds as riders head out for an epic day of racing in the mountains. From the base of Woody Gap riders will face about 12 miles of long rollers before making a right turn onto Skeenah Gap Road. After a 3 mile almost continuous climb to the top of Skeenah Gap riders will descend into a roughly 15 mile section of mostly gently rolling terrain with the occasional power climb. This section takes riders to the end of Skeenah Gap Road, right onto Blue Ridge Highway, right onto Hidden Lake (with one monster power climb), left onto Mulkey Gap Road, and then right onto Owltown Road which goes all the way to 129. Turning right onto 129 brings riders to the bottom of Neal's Gap where they will climb for 3 miles before making the right turn onto Wolfpen Gap Road to make the final 3.5 mile climb to the finish at the top of Wolfpen Gap. Pro/1/2's will continue to Suches, turn right onto 60 and make a second lap before finishing at the Top of Wolfpen. After the race riders will descend Wolfpen and ride the 7 miles back to the Parking area at Suches.

Map - http://www.mapmyride.com/route/us/ga/augusta/831681226755
Address: Augusta Common - 823 Broad St. Augusta, GA 30901
Course Description: Those having battled in previous rounds will be familiar with each other's strengths and weaknesses, while newer riders and upgrades will be able to play the wild card amidst the group. Tactics will unveil as riders either look to protect their positions or pursue the lead to claim their place. Attacks will most certainly go from the gun as this fast, six corner Criterium in DOWNTOWN Augusta provides a great opportunity to spoil the sprint with a solid breakaway group. Augusta will be out on the streets for this event to give riders that needed adrenaline to stay away. The Start/Finish is located on Broad, directly in front of the Commons where the crowds will gather. The course runs counter-clockwise, taking a left on 8th Street and then a long, straight shot down Reynolds where riders will be fighting for position going into the tricky chicane on MacCartan Street. The first few out of the last corner will have the advantage to the line, but it is a long sprint and must be timed to perfection. MAR point$ will be determined by prime bell.
Notes: Public bathrooms are located in the Special Event office at the Augusta Common adjacent to Reynolds St. on the backside of the race course.
Numerous bars and restaurants located in the vicinity of the criterium course.

Course Description: Sunday.Fort Gordon.Range Road's Revenge. GEORGIA STATE ROAD RACE CHAMPIONSHIP Open to everyone, first Georgia racer to cross the line wears the Georgia State Road Race Champion's Jersey for a year! A 24K "Flandrian" course with multiple short, steep climbs. These hills will only get bigger with every lap! It will be a long day "out of the saddle" as the stronger riders big-ring these short climbs in an all out assault on the legs and the will of the peleton. Those who are unable to answer these attacks will be forced to face each climb alone as they make their way back to the start/finish area. With the KOM atop a stiff stint to the Start/Finish, one would suspect to find a new wearer of the Jersey by the end of the day. It will be a tough job for the teams to hold it together for their leader's and it may just be a day-long break that catches the chasers out if they leave it too late. The uphill finish will serve the final sorting in those that remain. KOM at start/finish on EVERY LAP except finishing lap.
Notes: All cars entering Fort Gordon are subject to search. All persons entering the park must have valid ID. All drivers must provide current drivers license and proof of insurance.
