This weekend's Chickamuga/Chattanooga Road Race will NOT include the finial 1.5 mile climb.
After several trusted scouting trips and one by the Krystal Elite team - we have decided in the interest of complete safety NOT to finish the race this year up that climb.
The issue was a creek at the very bottom of the climb that was washed out had a bunch of loose/soft mud. Everyone agreed that it would be passable by a bike or two at a time, however, this RR would bring the majority of the field to the start of the climb at once. Thus, making it very sketchy at best.
So, the other problem in years past was the 40+ MPH bunch sprint at the finish in the cove and the busy Hwy 136 - 1k climb. The course map remains the same as it was but we cut out the hwy 136 1k climb and added the Andrews Lane .5 mile STEEP climb. The finish will now be on the loop! There for you will see the finish banner every lap!
We will be very specific where the finish will be and you will be able to see it every lap!
