SUNDAY, April 6th - Gainesville Criterium
The GC typically tries to have our TT/TTT’s on Saturday morning followed by a Crit or Circuit in the afternoon/evening. We like to reserve Sunday’s for an early Road Race so patrons can get home for work on Monday. This year Gainesville could not grant us use of their downtown square until Sunday and there are a couple rather LARGE Churches on the course that have asked us to kindly wait until 12:30 to begin racing. We appreciate that many patrons travel to race the GC and racing late on Sunday is not the best situation for them. We have asked that the Quality Inn give all GC patron’s late check out but it will be up to you to confirm a late check out. Those of you who have raced the Gainesville Crit course know that it is a great course and we are very excited to be back again this year. Please note: The crit course is reversed (counter clockwise) this year with the start/finish on the opposite side of the square. This will make for much safer racing. Thank you for your understanding and we hope to see everyone at the criterium!

THINGS TO REMEMBER ABOUT THE GC!!
Time bonuses and points will be allotted to riders for MAR, KOM, and stage placings। MAR and KOM points do not go into the overall GC points (Yellow Jersey)। These points go towards a season long MAR and KOM competition only.
Riders MUST participate in all three events to be eligible for the General Classification (GC)। In order to be eligible for the General Classification (GC) you must register for the Stage race BEFORE the start of the Time Trial. Signing up for individual events “as you go” will not allow you to be eligible for the General Classification (GC).
Podiums for Road Race & Crit/Circuit: will be immediately following your race – 3 minutes. TT results and Podiums will be announced for each race but typically: Results posted 30 minutes before the start of your race as well as podiums.
General Classification Podiums: will be 30 minutes after the finish of the race. Jersey will be awarded to leader. (starting in Chattanooga). Jersey’s MUST be returned or you will be charge $125.
KOM: Time bonuses will be awarded and will be announced on race day. We will give you the distance (s) from the start line to the KOM on race day. There will be a minimum of one for each race.
Patrons racing in the CAT 4/5 division that are 35 and older can race both the U35, 35+ Competitive divisions and the Masters 30+. However, keep in mind that Masters 30+ comprises of mostly CAT1/2’s.
If you fall behind the trail vehicles, you are considered dropped from the race and must obey traffic laws.
Centerline Rule: Centerline rule will be in effect and will be strictly enforced by event officials. Riders may have the entire road for the last 200 meters to contest the sprint per officials’ decision.
Course Markings: All turns will be marked with a Georgia Cup directional sign and arrow pointing in the direction you need to turn. Volunteer Marshals will be present at important turns. Police will be located at busy intersections. All riders are encouraged to keep a course map. It is still your responsibility to KNOW the course. Don’t assume.
Feed Zone: All feeding during the road race shall be conducted in the designated area only- TBA। Feedings allowed from the right side only। DO NOT DISPERSE OF ANYTHING ANYWHERE ALONG THE COURSE!!! LITTERING IS AN AUTOMATIC DISQUALIFICATION. REMEMBER, FEED OFF THE BACK. NOT in the middle of the pack & please be careful.
TRANSPONDERS
The Georgia Cup, GC S7 and GC ToA will be using AMB Chip-X transponders for scoring as it allows us to score races based on time, as well as give lap times, score MAR and KOM, and provide instant results. Transponders are required to race. Failure to rent a transponder or install your purchased transponder will result in DNS.
Riders will need to purchase ($109) or rent ($10/rental) their transponder। Once you have purchased your own transponder, your personal information will be loaded into the database and will always be associated with your Chip-X। You can use your Chip-X at any race that scores with Chip-X transponders।
Riders will receive Georgia Cup (GC) points towards the series overall for the top 10 places in Time Trial, top 15 places in Criterium, top 20 in the Road Race, and top 25 places on GC.
Series MAR & KOM points are 5 deep: 7,5,3,2,1 for the year long competition.

The EPIC PERRY-ROUBAIX
HELLO! There is a HUGE RV rally the same weekend as our race in Perry at the Fairgrounds. Therfore, Our race hotel has been moved NORTH into Perry to ease the flow of traffic around the Fairgrounds. Race Hotel has been changed to exit 136 at the Quality Inn - 1504 Sam Nunn Blvd, Perry, GA 31069. Call 478-987-1345 for GC rates of $58.64 per night! Saturday's 1.35 mile Circut race will have MAR points awarded for the Omnium and the Series (TBA). Although it is a 1.35 mile loop and considered a RR, it will be scored as a Crit but there will NOT be any free laps.
Sunday's Perry-Roubiax RR will have MAR's on EVERY lap past the Start Finish! The FEED ZONE will be located approximately 100 yards off the corner of Perry Parkway and MLK (Elko Road) - So, when you turn RIGHT off of Perry Parkway onto MLK (Elko Road) the FEED ZONE will be located ahead on the right. This should give everyone ample time to slow after the MAR at the start finish.
The KOM will be located at the top of the MLK (Elko Road) climb and BEFORE you turn right onto Gilbert Road. Every lap will be a KOM so be ready to race! ____________________________________________________________________

ALBANY Georgia Cup
Aside from results issues that we are working to improve for Perry the Albany weekend was a great Success! We have received more positive comments than ever before. Thank you to everyone for participating, Regions Bank, the Albany CVB and all of the Volunteers! We will be posting pictures and videos later in the week. I personally have learned from some mistakes I made racing in the 3's division and will make sure they don't happen again. Rules of the road can sometimes be gray and that is why the GC will always defer to the officials for their judgment. At the same time, we pray that patrons will respect the rules and be sure to make safety of themselves and others the #1 priority - above racing.
Many of you maybe aware that USA Cycling officials will DQ anyone for "attacking" over the centerline (not the yellow - the center of the road). Simply moving up will get you relegated to the back but "Attacking" will get you DQ'd. There are times in RR when the official will go ahead of the group for time checks and other reasons - this is NOT the time to break the rules and "ATTACK" - even if you are 'legally' being blocked. It is completely legal, however, to "ATTACK" from the grass at your own risk. Please contact USA Cycling for more details to the rule.
See you in Perry!
