GC Series 7 Cumming Omnium p/b Reality Bikes registration is OPEN!

The Georgia Cup is very excited about our Cumming event May 10th and 11th. All 3 courses are very challenging and very well designed by Mr. Todd Muller of Reality Bikes. The RR does NOT have any MAJOR climbs, however, the course is technical and rolling with POWER climbs all over it. Could be considered similar to this year's Gainesville race WITHOUT Maubry Hill repeats.

Reality Bikes does this VERY ride every Wednesday night. The B (no drop) rides leaves at 5:45pm and the A ride leaves at 6:00pm SHARP. Come out and meet Todd and the reality Bikes Team for a fun practice race/ride.

Transponders are not required for this event, however, we will be 'testing' our latest software that will be use for the ToA.

GRAY AMB.it LATE RETURN CHIP LIST- PLEASE HELP

Hello! We realize that returning “GRAY” chips after an epic weekend like Gainesville or Chattanooga is sometimes hard to remember. We have waited patiently for many of the chips to be returned but still have way too many that are outstanding. Please note that AMB.it charges the GC for these unreturned GRAY chips. If we do not have these chips back by Friday, April 25, 2008, we will have no choice but to charge your credit card $125 per the race waiver agreement. For those that some how slipped through and did not use a credit card we will report to USA Cycling and petition to have your license suspended until you pay for it. After Friday we will have to pay AMB.it and we will NOT accept the Gray chip back and will only take $125. It is simply not fair for us to have to beg for property that we leased for your use. If you know someone on this list please ask them to return it asap. For mailing info please email info@georgiacup.com. If your name is NOT on the list and you have a gray chip it means we have overlooked you but rest assured that we will end up finding our error. If your name is on this list in error please email us and we will remove it and you have our apologies. Thank you in advance!

Its that time again...our favorite weekend of CYCLING!

Its that time again...our favorite weekend of cyclingof the year....the Twilight।The event that started it all, nearly some 30 yearsago as a brainchild of that crazy Gene Dixon afterhitting his head in a race in France. The Twilight andits spawn have helped to build the popularity ofcycling to urban markets around the country andshowcased the sport as more than boring point to pointroad treks. Showcasing what makes bike racing the bestsport in the world....the athletes. The Twilight has added a great line up of Jazz actswith the UGA School of Music and has something for thewhole family this weekend in Athens. Not to mention30,000 screaming fans, co-eds, and cocktails....goodtimes...definitely good times. Our Friends at Swagger have graciously made the racingclasses mirror those of the GA Cup so one can raceagainst the usual cast of characters. The Junior racesare also part of the LAJORS (Lance Armstrong) racingprogram by USA Cycling. So if yo have not ever been to the Twilight....youshould.if you have....you know its the most fun you can haveat a bike race.See you at in Athens.link to races below....

2008 Chattanooga – Georgia Cup

We have received consistent feedback…. The best GC ever! The RR was the most beautiful location we’ve ever seen. Dahlonega is no doubt beautiful. But just wait until we post our pictures. It started in a cove that looked up at Lookout Mountain and literally continued along the foothills. The course was challenging, well marked and Senic City Velo provided more than enough volunteers.
If you have a “GRAY” transponder you need to overnight it by Wednesday! Contact info@georgiacup.com for mailing instructions.
Thank You Very Much to SCV (Senic City Velo), all the volunteers, Wheel Truck drivers, Lead Cars, Pace Car, Economy Honda, all the GC series sponsors, Topview Sports, Steven Carpenter and especially Mr. Matt MacAfee. Thank you Matt for all your hard work, before the event and during, in making the first every Chattanooga GC the best experience for everyone! See you in Cumming!
We are heading to Cumming for our Series 7 – Cumming Georgia Cup, p/b Reality Bikes (http://www.realitybikes.com/) on May 10th. For those who have never been to Cumming, GC – you’re in for another treat!
After Cumming be ready – the 2008 Tour of Atlanta begins, Thursday, May 22 – Monday, May 26th। We will be in NE Atlanta this year. Details, Flier, bible, race hotel info, etc will be out THIS week!

Lost rear wheel
During the Chattanooga Road Race, I got a flat and exchanged wheels from the wheel truck. After the race, my rear wheel was missing from the truck. It is an American Classic Sprint 350. Please let me know if this was found after the races on Sunday. Thanks

LOST POWERTAP unit
I raced the Masters Road Race this morning, part of the Chattanooga race weekend. During the first lap, my yellow Powertap computer unit fell off my bike. After the race, I went back and thoroughly looked over the area, but did not find it. Could you please let me know if anyone turns in this unit as lost? . Thank you in advance. Bob Rowland
Lost Item at Chattanooga RR
Someone lost something relatively valuable this past weekend. I'd hate for it to fall in the wrong hands, thus I've done what I'd hope one would do for me.
If you can explain your item and where and when you "misplaced" it this weekend, please contact me so that I can get it back to you immediately.

REALITY BIKES OFF THE FRONT OR ON THE FRONT??

We are still waiting on a ruling from the UCI. Is it the leading edge of the front wheel or the leading edge of the wheel in front? Good news is that everyone is A OKAY!

Georgia Cup – GAINESVILLE in the NEWS!

Economic impact! This is what the GC brings to a community. Here's what one business owner said ...... Rebecca Clanton, owner of Sweet Magnolia's on Main Street, said she served nearly 1,000 customers Sunday, including cyclists and volunteers. "We opened especially for the Georgia Cup. We've probably served 500 sandwiches or more and 20 gallons of ice cream," Clanton said. "It's been a madhouse all day."

Thank you to our sponsors and volunteers! On Saturday we had 15 Sheriff officers and over 20 volunteers for one of the most exciting Road Races in GC history!
We are very excited about the support our Paton's have shown early on this year! Keep in mind Saturday it rained (sometimes poured) all day and we still had over 400 participants! WOW!
Special thanks to our officials - if it was not for them there would be no reason to promote races. Thank you so much!
Watch for videos and pictures from this epic weekend to be posted this week - http://www.georgiacup.com/.
THE GC will be announcing 4 of our 7 Tour of Atlanta stages THIS week! We are still looking for that elusive TITLE sponsor of the ToA. If you can help refer someone we we would really appreciate it. Please contact James Lowe at james@georgiacup.com.
Extra Special Thanks goes out to:
Addictive Cycles, Cafeine and crew, Team Cannondale/Allset, Hayes Dealerships, Tim & Chad Hayes, Main Street Market, Sweet Magnolia, Just Downtown, the City on officers of Gainesville, Hall County Engineering, Hall County Sheriff, Jackson County Sheriff, Jackson County, City of Pendergrass, City of Talmo, The Georgia DOT, North Jackson Elementary School, Kathy Elrod, Joe Burnett, Debra Harkrider, Nathan O'Neill, Eric & Jason Kriel & last but not least Eric and Jennifer Holyfield!

On a personal note - Thank you to Mr. & Mrs. Andrew Weatherington, Robert Shaver & Ms. Shirley for watching baby Emerson.

An example of our Individual page is http://www.georgiacup.com/index.php?page=bios/murphy.

The Team & Individual (racer bio) pages will be completely FREE and a fun way to promote yourself and your team to potential sponsors and others.
