The 2011 Atlanta Labor Day 10K is located on Riverview Road in Mableton. The event host is RIVERVIEW LANDING.
What’s going on at Riverview Landing?
The 86-acre Riverview on the Chattahoochee, which will transform a conglomeration of former industrial sites along the river into a mixed-use development including residential, office, retail and light industrial areas. The vision is to create an environmentally sensitive, riverfront community. In which the commercial areas will be combined with the sensitive restoration of the river’s edge and the creation of natural green spaces, parks and trails. When finished, it will represent quite a turnaround for the property. Source: Atlanta Business Chronicle – September 3-9, 2010 (http://www.thereynoldsgroupinc.com/newsjamestown/rvr/9.3.10_abc.pdf)

Sunday, May 29th at 8 am - Kelly Bridge/Yellow Creek. NEW PARKING - Same course but we removed the "stick" of the Lolli Pop making it very easy to navigate!
Map: http://georgiacup.com/files/11tt/Kelly-Bridge-Yellow-Creek-RR.pdf
Monday, MEMORIAL DAY, May 30th at 8am - Big Canoe/Burnt Mtn EPIC RR. We also updated the parking - This year we are parking at Trinity Church just past the Big Canoe main entrance! It is also a large circuit instead of a Lolli Pop. Much better for logistics and sweeping.
*Please note: This is NOT an easy course - notice the words EPIC and Extreme.... Because of the distance and laps we are offering both CAT 3's and Masters 35+ the option to race 2 laps. See the race flier and registration page for details when signing up.

Senoia Crit Course Rationale
The Senoia Crit course was designed and ALL permits approved on a local level. We submitted to USAC ~ a month ago but because most of our courses are wide open USAC didn't visit the new course until late last week.
They concluded because of the narrow streets it was too dangerous for larger categories. It would probably be ok for PROAM and Masters races with smaller fields but with 50+ racers it could pose a safety issue.
The GC feels it could be done but ultimately that is not our decision. We support USAC's decision and feel if there is even a question about safety it should be addressed.
At the end of the day, we are disappointed ONLY because just like all of our races we put a lot of time and effort into that course.
However, things really do happen for a reason - we could have thwarted an accident because of the change. Plus, the NEW circuit is a PTC favorite training ride and is a great course. Those that are just CRIT racers will still love this course. Those that don't like CRITS - good news .... Its a CIRCUIT!!!
I realize that the GC and I cannot please everyone all the time but please know that I try. If for any reason you are not happy with a decision that I made or and action that I took please reach out to me and let me know your feelings. I WANT YOU HAPPY. I will do everything I can to do that.
Respectfully,
Jay~
