2011 GC OVERVIEW

With Christmas and the Holiday's in full swing Spincycle Sports Marketing wants to thank you for supporting the Georgia Cup!

Our goal every year is to improve our service to you in producing safe, high quality events - Events that you can count on being consistent from the first event in Savannah to the Epic Memorial Day Tour of Atlanta.

2011 Overview

Website
We did an overhaul to www.georgiacup.com - to ensure consistency in finding our events, race fliers, course maps, easy access to registration and single click to view the results page. We are hard a work producing new events for Running, Triathlon and Grand Fondo's.

GCTT
We have put together an exciting 18.5 mile Winter Time Trial Series in Adairsville. This is the same course that we've used in year's past and last year's Dalton Grand Prix. The course is rolling and fast! We have consolidated categories to: Pro12, CAT3, CAT4, CAT5, Masters 35+/45+, Women and Juniors.

All event info (maps, flier, directions, etc) is now listed here: http://georgiacup.com/races.php?series=tt&id=1

No timing chips are required for any GC Time Trials.

Atlanta Criterium Series
We will have 2 separate Wednesday night ACS series - Spring and Summer. Both will be located in Marietta at West Oak. The spring series will be 6 events - The 1st five Spring ACS races will be for the series overall and the 6th will be the "Champion's" race where we will award the Spring ACS champion's in each category. Categories: Pro12, CAT3, CAT4, CAT5, Masters 35+/45+ & Women.

The Summer ACS will be the same format but with 12 races - The 1st eleven will be for point and the last for the "Champion's" race.

GC Bike Race series
Since 2004, the Georgia Cup Bike Race series has been growing and improving the consistency of our events. We are very proud in the fact that our cohesive 8 Omnium series will provide safe yet exciting/challenging courses, great competition and be very efficient. We know that your time is valuable and we strive to have a seamless (easy to navigate) website, quick race day registration, instant podiums and post results online timely.
New for 2011 we have made ALL 8 races Omniums, beginning with Savannah and ending with our annual Tour of Atlanta. We will award series champions at the Tour of Atlanta!

Leaders Jersey
Thanks to Champion System's we will award series leader in each category a leader's jersey to be worn at all GC Bike Race Omniums. This is yours to keep - even if someone takes over the led. Every time a new series leader emerges we will award them with a NEW leader's jersey to keep.

Finishing Arch
Thanks to Mix 1 we have added a new finishing arch to all of our Criteriums. See rendering: http://twitpic.com/37q3n4

Custom BIB #'s & Series #'s
New for 2011 we have offered Custom BIB #'s - http://www.bikereg.com/events/register.asp?eventid=11965.
Over 80 racers took advantage of this exciting new feature. We will assign series BIB #'s to everyone. No matter if you got a custom BIB # or not you will have your own # for all GC Events. Including, GCTT (only Custom BIB #'s owners will keep same # for all races), ACS & Bike Race Omniums. Over 50 separate events.

This will dramatically improve race day registration. If you own your AMB Timing Chip you will ONLY need to sign a waiver in our "EXPRESS" registration line. Those who do NOT own an AMB Timing Chip will need to rent/return the chips and must come through the standard registration line.
