2008 GC will follow USA Cycling rules; however, due to conflicts with other USA Cycling events (and other reasons) may NOT all be USA Cycling events. The choice is completely the GC's choice and will continue to use our core cycling officials for these events. There is NO need to panic! You will not notice any differences that will affect your racing or results. The GC will make these decisions on a case by case basis. Even though the event may not a USA Cycling event you are STILL eligible for upgrades! Log in to your USA Cycling account (https://www.usacycling.org/myusac/index.php?pagename=login) and submit your resume of races to be upgraded

A portion of the cost of a USA Cycling license pays for insurance. Without USA Cycling sanctioning at some events, will there be other forms of liability insurance in place?
Also, will you be providing in advance a list of those events that will not be sanctioned by USA Cycling?
Thanks for your time, Tim
Good question Tim, liability insurance at non-USA Cycling events will be furnished by USA CRITS. This is an insurance issue and has nothing to do with sanctioning.
The majority of our events will be insured by USA Cycling; however, we have chosen to support USA CRITS for - Albany, Athens Twilight (TT and Sunday’s Crit TBA) and Sandy Springs (USA CRITS - TBA).
All events strictly follow the rules of USA CYCLING, we have the same officials and all patrons will receive the same benefits. Only difference is the insurance. The GC supports USA CYCLING and will produce their State Championships and LAJORS (see juniors).
Please let me know if you have any further questions or comments. We look forward to seeing you & Team Cycleworks p/b HDR in Albany!
